Many hypnotherapists tend to use a 'one size fits all' approach to treat their clients, working from a set script for a certain problem. Therefore, everyone wanting to stop smoking, for example, would hear the same set words during their hypnosis sessions. This approach may be effective in some instances perhaps more by luck than design; whilst in other people, it may have little or only limited effect. This is not the way a Quest Institute trained therapist such as myself works. At our initial session, over the space of about an hour, I will ask extensive questions about you and the way you experience your problem, and how you would prefer things to be once the problem is in your past. By combining cognitive hypnotherapy and NLP techniques, I can then individualise your treatment plan to best suit your needs. From the information you give me, we can work together to form a partnership. This will include truly bespoke hypnotic suggestion patterns using Wordweaving™ , so that your treatment can be successfully completed in the shortest time possible.
Cognitive hypnotherapy is a safe, client-based approach that utilises the naturally occurring trance states that we all enter everyday. Have you ever been walking down a street, deep in your thoughts, only to 'come back to reality' to find that you can not remember having walked the last five minutes of your journey? That's trance, and we all enter that state many times in a day. You will not see any swinging watches or be met with 'look into my eyes'. Because the client need only be in a light trance, you can be assured that you will always feel in control, knowing that you could 'wake up' at any time you choose. You can not be made to do anything whilst in trance that is against your principles, nor do you have to divulge any information about yourself if you are not completely happy to do so. You will be able to talk to me throughout, so that we can work together to achieve the results that you desire. Many people report feeling extremely relaxed during hypnosis, which often continues for a period of time afterwards.

It is a way of comprehending how we see our world differently to others. NLP techniques take many forms that provide powerful tools to allow change within us. Some of these tools, once learned, can be used throughout life to provide a means of 'self help', so you can take control of your life in the future.
Do you believe that the things that have happened in your past have shaped the way your life is now? NLP would suggest that it is our reaction to these events from our past, not the events themselves that shape the way we are in our future. We can overcome any difficulties life throws at us if we think of them not as 'failure', but merely 'feedback'. If we accept that this is the case, there can be no obstacles preventing us from having the most fulfilled life possible. The life you want is available to you. The question is, 'Do you want it enough to put some effort into it?'
The ability to affect change in your life is within you to achieve, and combining cognitive hypnotherapy, Wordweaving™ and NLP techniques, together we could make it happen, so much quicker than you might once have thought possible.
I have a large number of techniques at my disposal, to help guide you to make significant changes to many aspects of your life, be it in a personal or business context. Because of this, you might be surprised at just how quickly changes can occur. Some simple issues may be successfully dealt with in 1 – 2 hours. For some more deep-rooted problems, a little longer may be required. Much depends on how committed you are. We all have the ability within ourselves for transformation. After all, problem patterns have generally been learnt over time. If we learnt them in the first place, doesn't it make sense that we can un-learn them now, should we choose to do so?
NLP Learning Coach
I have undergone further specialist training from the Quest Institute as an NLP Learning Coach. This enables me to help my clients to be the best learners they can.
Trevor and Rebecca Silvester of The Quest Institute, originally developed their NLP skills base working at the world famous Hendon Police Training School. Trevor was in charge of a unit assisting those students who were failing their exams. Over a three year period they developed a model based on NLP principles that matched a student's thinking style to a study method. Studies showed that student's improved their exam performance by between 10% and 30% with only 2½ hours of coaching – and that improvement was maintained after coaching was concluded, as long as the principles continued to be followed.
I help my clients understand their own thinking style, and together we work out a strategy for study that will be most appropriate for them. By using cognitive hypnotherapy when necessary, we can also work on any limiting beliefs that you might have. It's never too late to learn how to learn more effectively.
